This is nice. Elec sighs happily, relishing in the closeness. Every day brings new things, new excitements and adventures and new dangers as well. Would he have ever experienced things back home? Unlikely. Here he can delight in at least a very good illusion of true freedom.
And speaking of new?
"Souls?" he asks, light frown. That's not the sort of thing he'd been expecting to hear of Snake's mission. New things though, he keeps an open mind "What do you mean you saw yours?"
"The device we were given to take on the Chalian disguises pushed them out of hiding and put them into a physical animal form!" Snake stretches his coiling form around him. "She looked like a hognose and was very skittish. She didn't like being out of hiding, I can not explain more in a way that makes sense..."
Snake looks up at him. "She is she, and I am he. Some how we are the exact same, isn't that fascinating!"
Snake giggles in a hiss. He puts a hand up on Elec's chest as he turns a little more on his lap. "I bet yours would be just as wonderful. Handsome and sparking with life."
"I think I understand one of my siblings a little more now... I had assumed there was perhaps souls, but I had thought it may of only been him to be so..." lucky? Snake hums and shrugs still with that hand over elec's chest.
Sliding it up to his face and lays there. "I wonder if its an accident... A beautiful accident of life."
It's still a bit hard follow. The soul part he finds himself not terribly bent up over... it's more then it manifesting in the physical form of a hognose snake that he's having a little difficulty getting over. It's odd, but Snake is just so earnest...
"I don't think I've every thought of it as 'soul'. It feels so distinctly human I never thought to call it that," his optics slide shut and he leans his cheek against Snake's palm. His synthetic skin is faintly staticky to the touch, "I can sense our EM fields, well we all can to a certain degree, but I'm particularly well tuned to it. It doesn't stay the same. There's the obvious growing more intense as weapons charge up, or fainter when low on power... but it's more then that. There's fluctuations, sometimes with mood, sometimes just because. It's like a constantly changing pulse."
His eyes are closed but Snake's field is mellow when he concentrates, but there a healthy buzz of what he can only assume is the wonder of it all.
"Maybe it is an accident. There's nothing in our codes that dictate that. Microwaves don't feel like we do," he laughs a little and opens his eyes, "Don't think I mind an accident like that."
so i thought i responded to this a million years ago...
