Rock chuckles at him and his face gets all shy with red fluster. "Can you do the one about the Bittersweet Lemons?." Rock shines up with sparkled interest.
"It's soft song but I like it." He puts his hands over the desk and hums happily. "It's such a silly one too and makes me happy in a sad way."
[ The response is immediate. The guitar, feeding on the energy, something inside it - some engine, some amplifier - roaring to life. Perfectly tuned, perhaps, but 'not entirely calibrated correctly' is right- The bolts that SHOOT out of it not only connect with the desk below Elecman, but arc off and over, filling the air with energy. Massive and powerful.
And sending Starscream ducking and swearing. ]
OKAY, okay, fucking over-compensated with it-
[ He peeks back over. ] Though you certainly would give Antlers a bad time if you hit him with that...
[ He snorts a little at the comment, and picks his way around the scorch marks on his just washed floor to make his way to Elecman. ]
Antlered Megatron. Manipulative bastard who wants to own everyone around him. [ His voice is flat; there's real anger there, but he's reining it in until only the hint of it sparks in his tone.
He flicks his wings, sits down in the backless seat there at the desk, and flashes a couple tools out of his subspace. ] Alright. Help me calibrate this, and we'll have it working perfectly in no time.
[ Elec has an eye for detail and he's not one to miss sparks. He takes the information seriously. It always helps to know what materials are volatile no matter your surroundings. ]
I don't care to be owned more then I am. I'll keep an eye out for him.
[ His optics light up at the tools, some familiarish some not so much. ]
Tell me want you want me to do and I'll give both you and Kagerou a concert you won't forget.
text; $quickdraw - message from the end of lethal baby fight
[ There's a nod, approving, and he pulls his goggles out of his subspace just to pull them down on his head. With exacting care he gingerly lifts the guitar out of Elec's hands and sets it down, flicking it open to reveal its surprisingly complex internals. ]
You might as well watch. Proper weapon maintenance is crucial, and I'm sure you'll want Stormfront to be in peak condition at all times.
[ Because of course he named the guitar. ]
Now what I'm doing here... Is turning the output way down, so we can work back up from here. [ He flicks out the requested meter and sets it to the side; it takes some... Finangling to connect the Cybertronian-sized device to the very small guitar. ] Let's start by just feeding in the same amount of power you did before.
[ While all the madness is going down in Quick's room, Elec was simply in his own, sitting in an arm chair, the guitar Rock gave him in his lap, playing some tune or another. He looks at his comm and picks it, frowning at the sender. ]
What have you done now, idiot?
[ He sets it down a plays another song or two but stops when he realizes he hasn't heard back from him yet. Not that he's had a lengthy experience in communicating with the other Robot Master but Quick seems like the type to respond to things in seconds and whatever's going on is crazy enough that he's texting HIM... ]
Quick what's up?
[ It's later much later that Elec hears what happened. What do you say? What can you say? He can't call Quick a friend, a brother. He's a menace to society and he's already tried killing him twice. But... Quick was trying to not. Their last conversation he felt like they were getting somewhere. Where? Who knows. Somewhere. He can't think of anything to say (Do Robot Masters get funeral rites?) but he pings Quick's comm line on last time. Voice This time. ]
[ He looks up, eyebrow raised and amused expression on his face. ]
Bit ostentations. I like it.
[ He laughs. It's just like him. He watches everything with interest and a keen eye, even reaches over to help guide the oversized equipment to the proper place. His small hands can secure everything down nice and safe. ]
You must have had to use tweezers.
The internals are surprising, certainly not what own would expect in an electric guitar but... considering the output he witnessed. His hand hovers over it, a few arcs of energy crackling between his fingertips. Hopefully Starscream has turned down the output enough, he might be immune to his own electric charge but...
"Of course, I think even bitter people have a lot of love to offer. They're just harder to befriend, but I think I can." Rock's eyes twinkle so bright. So full of optimism, not yet broken and tired.
Maybe he'll be lucky and it'll never break his spirit.
"I... like some of the Wilybots. I like that I got to meet them before I hurt them, so maybe this way things will be better for everyone." Rock says with full belief. "I think we could all be friends someday. Bitter lemons and all."
Elec wants to tell him no. No it's a terrible idea. But... he thinks about Gemini. Once he'd made it clear he wasn't planning on attacking him without provocation and the other number had calmed down a bit they'd had a pretty normal time listening to music and swapping opinions.
He sighs.
"Just promise me you'll be careful," he finally replies, voice quietly serious, "I don't know how Doctor Light managed to cram so much compassion and hope in such a small body... or maybe he didn't and you just became that on you own. I just don't wanna see you get hurt, you hear?"
"Of course, I can't make friends if I'm dead." Rock says bluntly leaning his arms over the table stage. "I know ways around it. They only have orders to kill Megaman, there's nothing there about Rock Light." He says as if that's the perfect solution to everything.
As if its so easy to seperate Rock from Megaman. So easy to say they are different.
He doesn't fully understand the flaws. All he has is that hope on his face brightly shown. "Me and Gemini are starting as pen pals. Then some day I hope to see him in person."
"Just remember, the two sides of a coin may look real different but they're still the same coin," he reaches down and ruffle's the boy's hair affectionately, adding a bit of static with a smirk to make it fluff up a bit.
He's like to wrap him up in bubble wrap so nothing bad happens to him but... that's not reality.
"Hey, let's do something fun, see those over there," he grins and points to a few bags near the door, "Went to the craft store earlier and got some spray paint. I was going to stencil some lightning bolts on one of the walls but I got a another idea. Grab me the black one and pick one out for yourself."
Rock shivers and his hair poofs about. Making the little robot pout, his cheeks puffed out and his hair dancing off electic pulses. It's enough to make him not argue back against Elec's correct logic on Coins.
Though Rock didn't quite get what Coins had to do with himself.
"I'm always up for fun, but if you zap me again I'm stealing your power and zapping back." He warns with a smirk. Standing back to smooth out his hair. Which never worked before and won't work now. So he shrugs and goes to collect the sprays. The black, then Rock collects a nice baby blue. Predictable.
"You know I have to treat my hair with special products so it doesn't stand on end all the time when my mask's off, right?" he laughs. That's one retaliation that's one hundred percent ineffective on him.
With Rock grabs the paint, Elec pulls the guitar off his shoulders and flips it upsidedown on the table.
"Thanks, now watch..." he takes the can and thinks as he shakes it up and pops the lid off. He makes a shocker with his free hand and presses it flat to the back of the guitar. A quick spray of paint and he lifts it, the shadow of his hand left on it.
"Your turn next," he nudges it closer to his brother, "If our other siblings show up I'll get them too."
He waves his colored hand a bit and a quick buzz of charge practically vaporizes the paint on it.
"To much hair product makes hair crusty. So I guess you must really know how to keep it silky instead, huh." And then Rocks' face lights up as he watches what fun thing Elec wanted to ask of him. Something for them to do together.
Rock looks at his hand, placing it carefully over the Guitar, and sprays over. Lifting slow, it's not often he thinks of the differences between him and Elec.
But the hand prints sure do point it out. He smiles, Ice's will be even smaller. Cut would probably put his right next to his. Bomb goes there, and they'll have to use teh back for Guts. Time and Oil might got over there.
And Roll might even put her hand somewhere on it.
The way his optics shift around, its quite obvious he's been deducing spots and predictions.
Name of a Cybertronian song. Best way I could translate it. It is a guitar, after all.
And we still might need tweezers. Fingers crossed we don't.
[ It's all said in distraction, far more focused on the guitar itself. But with it set so low, it doesn't emit much at all. Certainly not what Starscream was aiming for. No matter, though; slowly, he brings it up as Elecman feeds it, and the sparks dance further. ]
[ It would be several hours after the incident.. but Elec would finally have an explanation of some form from the serpent himself... Through a painted Search Drone with yellow lightning, seeking him out and eventually it will find him...
His voice comes through with a flick of hesitation. ]
This distance is safe yes? I'm far enough you will not see nor fear my presence... But personal enough to... I'm sorry, I'm trying...
I enjoyed your company, for what it is worth. I enjoyed dancing and tuning our poetry of motion... I got carried away.
You moved like wind and grace. I wanted to keep you entangled and I struck when I shouldn't... I will not say I didn't mean to Bite... but I only bit because you were beautiful... but I still shouldn't of.
[ It's careful phrasing, audio is perhaps not the best choice. But Texting feels informal and too much can be missed between lines that are never spoken.
